Located North of 3rd Street on both sides of Tingley Street in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico (MAP), sixteen 2-bedroom, four 3-bedroom unfurnished Rural Development 515 housing apartments, all of which a wheel chair can enter and navigate, and one 2-bedroom of which is wheel chair accessible.  The complex is nicely landscaped with trees shrubs and grass.  There is a laundry facility on the premises.

Located approximately two miles from downtown Truth or Consequences where you can find churches, banks, beauty shops, barbers, restaurants, movie rentals, post office, groceries, drug store, shops, lawyers, and hot mineral baths houses.  About two miles to the City Library, bowling center and golf course.  Approximately five miles away is the Elephant Butte Lake State Park and Elephant Butte Lake for picnicking, camping, fishing, swimming, jet skiing, and boating fun.  Also, Enchantment Child Development Center is across the street.  The apartments are about a mile from the Elementary School, Ralph Edwards Park and a Junior/Senior Fishing Pond.

Eligibility: No police record.  Acceptable credit references such as previous landlords.  The applicant should be a family, and  income-eligible.  

An application must be completely filled-out, signed and returned to the Housing Authority with copies of all household members' Birth Certificates, Social Security cards, marriage license or divorce papers and proof of any and all income.  Social Security recipients must provide copy of award letter.   This places your name on the waiting list.  You can download the application.  Note, when using Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can fill out the form and print it, but the information will not be saved -- it saves only the blank form.

Waiting List:  Placement on the waiting list is by family composition and date and time a fully completed application is received.

Rent Calculation:  Thirty percent (30%) of your monthly adjusted income.

Utilities:  You pay gas and electric.  The City Electric Department can be contacted regarding any required deposits (505) 894-6671.  The PNM Gas Company can be contacted regarding any required deposits (505) 894-2843.  A utility allowance is factored in the rent calculation.

Security Deposits:  $100.00.  No financial assistance is available for security deposits and it is the sole responsibility of the tenant.

Pet Deposit:  $150.00 ($100 refundable) (Pets only under 25 pounds and you must furnish the Housing Authority with a copy of current vaccination records and proof of a city license).  There is no financial assistance for pet deposits.
