Housing Choice Voucher Coordinator
| Kelli Hechler has been working for the Truth or Consequences Housing Authority, formerly, as the Housing Manager Assistant, and currently as the Housing Choice Voucher Coordinator, since October 1996.
She is in charge of providing assistance to very low and low income families in obtaining decent, safe and sanitary rental housing out in the community. Kelli was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She moved to Truth or Consequences from Douglas, Wyoming and worked as a secretary for the Hot Springs High School. |
She graduated from High School and has completed courses with Craven Community College, Casper Junior College, and the University of Hawaii. Training certificates include Occupancy Specialist, Senior Housing Specialist, Housing Quality Standard Inspector, Lead Base Paint Inspector, Property Management, Business Writing, Housing Choice Voucher Occupancy, Program Monitoring for MTCS, Housing Choice Voucher Management Assessment Program, and Updates and Issues in Public Housing Authorities.
She is active with the Elephant Butte Chamber of Commerce in promoting special events, volunteers with the Elephant Butte State Parks, is a member and supporter of the New Mexico Military Institute Parents Association, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and Truth or Consequences Family Self-Sufficiency Advisory Board.
Awards and recognition include being a member of the National Honor Society, awarded Employee of the Month, Distributorship of the Year Award two years in a row, Certificates of Appreciation for various special events and local activities, and Certificate of Achievement for the Housing Choice Voucher Management Assessment Program.
Hobbies include outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, boating, and hiking. Also, loves reading and watching old westerns on television.
