Resident Opportunities and Self-Sufficiency Coordinator

 

 

Diane Williams has been with the Truth or Consequences Housing Authority as the Resident Opportunities and Self-Sufficiency Coordinator since November 2000.  She is responsible for providing support services and resident empowerment activities that assist residents in becoming economically self-sufficiency.  The focus of the program is two fold, providing program activities for families making the transition from “Welfare to Work” and providing programs to make “Aging in Place” possible for elderly/disabled residents.

 

She was born in Flint, Michigan, moving to Sierra County in 1996, after retiring from Baker College as a Marketing Instructor.  Her education includes a BBA, Secondary Education Certificate, and Masters Degree, all from the University of Michigan.

 

Her professional experience includes, working as an Auditor for the State of Michigan, being a liaison between the State of Michigan and the US Department of Labor, and eleven years as an educator at the college level.

 

Since moving to this area, she has been involved in many local charitable organizations, including both the Hospital and the Nursing Home auxiliaries.
