Maintenance Department

 

Steven Rice has been working in the Truth or Consequences Maintenance Department since September 1995.  He was born in Charleston, South Carolina.  He moved from Hesperia, California to Truth or Consequences to work for the New Mexico State Parks.

 

Other experience includes working as a HVAC Technician, Leadman in construction, concrete and maintenance and mobile home park maintenance and groundskeeper.  He is responsible for day-to-day maintenance and repair work orders of 100 public housing and 52 Rural Development 515 units and grounds, along with unit turn around, heating and cooling, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, landscaping and janitorial.

 

Training certificates include, Journeyman, Housing Quality Standards Inspector, Housing Maintenance, Lead Hazard Awareness, Furnace and HVAC System Servicing, Electrical Fundamentals and Hands-On HVAC Equipment Troubleshooting and Repair and Landscape Irrigation Auditor.  Other trainings include Bloodborne Pathogens and Tenmast Computer Training in Vacancy-Make Ready and Turn-around, Work Orders and Inspections.  Also, holds a New Mexico Public Applicators License for Pest Control.

 

He is a roll member of the Wyandotte Indian Tribe of Oklahoma.

 

He has special recognition as a student member of National Association of Jazz Educators and holds an Exceptional Customer Service Award.

 

Hobbies include cooking and eating.
